I want Front Row Back

I'm sure I'm like a lot of other people here. I want my Front Row back.....

I listen to a lot of Podcasts, watch movies from an SMB share, look at my photos, oh and listen to music. Front Row has done this for year after year, and last night, once I found it was gone, I wanted to go back to SL. How can Apple think they'll ship the new OS without the media center (Front Row) which has been around since what? 2005-8?

Honestly, if this is some sort of push (on their part) to their iCloud crap, they are in for a rude awakening.

Apple should stop taking away our functionality. This one step forward and two steps back is getting really lame.

Plus, there also seem's to be a lot of bugs. new one for me is then I have my two 24" displays connected (3 screens total). Once I plug my iPXXXXX in both 24" displays go back!!! OMG The insanity!!!

I'm with Louis here. I use, or rather used, Front Row on a daily basis. Didn't happen to notice anything within the Apple brochureware that indicated I'd lose Front Row if I upgraded to Lion. I'm now seriously considering taking my Mac back to Snow Leopard as it's that much of deal breaker for me. I used to mock my colleagues for having to put up with Windows Media Centre on their PCs when I had this simple and beautiful application. Okay, so maybe I'm going a bit overboard, but I'm that peeved about losing Front Row! Grrrrr to Apple!

I completely agree with the comments made so far. What an incredibly bad move to remove Front Row from Lion! I have a mid 2010 Mac Mini attached to my TV set and run Elgato Eye TV to record TV programs and Elgato Turbo.264 HD to encode videos into iTunes-friendly format. iTunes and Front Row coupled with Candelair and Remote Buddy software give me an excellent media center. I managed to get Front Row back in Lion following:

but since I upgraded to iTunes 10.4, Front Row can no longer access content in iTunes. I'm looking to roll back to iTunes 10.3.1. I've also placed a call to Apple Support to give me possible options - perhaps refund my purchase of Lion so I can roll back to Snow Leopard.

My little Apple remote is useless to me without Front Row.

I bought my 24" display for my 13" Macbook Pro so i could watch movies and browse photos when my friends come round using my remote and Front Row.

Seriously considering rolling back out of Lion because of the missing Front Row functionality.

For the moment i am going to try the "hack", but if the hack works then why couldn't those idiots at Apple have just left it in and said they weren't going to develop it further. I'm not asking for new functionality, but don't take this away.

I found this (Front Row Enabler for Lion) here, But it only will do your movies and Photo's at the moment (if you've upgrade to the lastest iTunes that is.) Also I've been playing with Plex and xbmc, both are good media players (Plex has a Netflix plugin which I like, but.... I don't have easy access to my music, and more important (to me at least) My Podcasts which I listen and watch all the time.
