OS X Lion internet sharing is so slow on iPad, Snow Leopard worked smoothly. Anyone having the same problem? Any work arounds?
Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7)
I updated Snow Leopard to Lion and now the internet sharing it's not working. I share the net to a PC. With Leopard everything was ok. The PC has a windows 7. From mac I can still connect with smb to PC.
Same here. I can't share my wifi connectio to the ethernet - same settings as on Snow Leopard. I know there is an issue with the name "airport", so you might want to select WIFI (instead of Airport) in the sharing panel. However this doesn't seem to solve my issue.
Thank you guys for the feedback, but I give up, now I'm waiting for some update. Internet Sharing with airport on OSX Lion doens't work at all.
Internet sharing broke for me after installing OSX Lion. It briefly works after a reboot but quickly breaks. I can generally check email on one other device before the connection goes out.
Same for me. It's just we or it's a Lion problem? I miss my wifi at home...crap
Tried to swich from Airport to WiFi but still not working. Hope that the Apple guys reading this and will do a quick fix or give us a solution.
Same problem here. I can share over my airport wifi network but it is dirt slow. Trying to copy a 300 meg file from one computer's desktop to another and the progress bar is saying 45 minutes and is just crawling.
I'm sure an update is coming but this is frustrating.
Safari and internet in general is much slower/laggish compared to my desktop which is still on Snow Leopard.
Not sure if this help. Had the same problem. Switched to Channel #3 instead of 11.
All seems fine now.

Seems that swiching the channel it's working also here. It was on Channel 5 and now with 3 it's working. Thanks for the tip.

I had the same problem. I changed the channel from 11 to 1 and all appears to be well now.

I already try wep, wpa, different names and channels....all I got is a awfully instable connection. I hope they don't delay an update to correct it. Snow Leopard was working perfectly
I can get some websites to work. For example, I can get Google, but not Facebook. Application data comes in mostly OK. Apple TV is not working at all and home sharing is broken. Waiting for an update I guess.
Lion broke my internet sharing as well. Had it working perfectly with Snow Leopard. Have gotten another Mac running Snow Leopard to work perfectly using the same exact settings.
I originally had it sharing Airport > Ethernet. Based on internet suggestions, I also tried WiFi > Ethernet. Did not help.
I have Applecare, and when I called they said that they "do not support Internet Sharing". What ********. I could see them not wanting to support the many many possible devices out there that people are trying to share their internet with, but if something is clearly broken they should help to troubleshoot it.
