When starting parallels under Lion I get this message: "Your virtual machine may run slow because virtualization support is disabled on your Mac. For optimal performance, please enable hardware virtualization support in your Mac's firmware"

Any help with how I do this would be appreciated.

The program then errors when I ok the firmware message:

"Unable to load the Parallels driver.

Restart your Mac and try again"

I do this but it just does the same again

Is this a separate or related issue?

None of this happened prior to the update to Lion

Thanks

Exactly where would I find this update, as Google turns up nothing and Software Update is not giving me anything for Parallels? As everyone else, I really need this working right NOW.

Thanks...

EDIT: OK, so the update is within the Parallels software itself. If there are any other numbnuts like me: Click Parallels Desktop - Check For Updates. Phew.

I'm having the same problem. I upgraded to Lion, which did not go well - had to take the Macbook Pro into the Apple Store and they had to wipe my machine. When I got the machine home and restored my computer from my Time Machine Backup (using Migration Assistant) with the help of Apple Care, I found I could not get Parallels to work. I get this message:

When starting parallels under Lion I get this message: "Your virtual machine may run slow because virtualization support is disabled on your Mac. For optimal performance, please enable hardware virtualization support in your Mac's firmware"

All the posts refer to upgrading to the latest version of Parallels 6, but when I try to use the Software Update feature I get this message:

Unable to save the file

ParallelsDesktop-parallels-en_US-6.0.12106.692267.dmg in /Users/michaelsafina/Downloads.

Permission denied

I have also run disk utility and run "repair permissions"

Please help!

Thanks.

Mike
