Do you have LaCie desktop manager version 1.4.2?
Apple uses afp as connection protocol and it changed in lion,
Nas builders still need bring update but they blame if you call their support line
It seems that apple deleted DHCAST128 in Osx lion 10.7
Because they say it's nit secure enough,
Seems that most nas systems use this.
This is how to put it back: ( disables time machine function on nas )
Open Terminal
sudo chmod o+w /Library/Preferences
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_host_prefs_version -int 1
reboot your Mac
Connect to the nas so it can make a profil
Open Terminal
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_disabled_uams -array “Cleartxt Passwrd” “MS2.0″ “2-Way Randnum exchange”
sudo chmod o-w /Library/Preferences
Reboot you Mac again
Now it should work
To turn it off again: ( default on lion)
Open terminal
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_disabled_uams -array-add “DHCAST128″
@Marcelleke thanks for your answer but right now solved the issue by using the SMB protocol. According to this site: "http://www.lacie.com/us/more/?id=10121" Lacie is working on a solution.
@monkey paw: Yes installed the latest version of the desktop manager.
Yeah the FILE ACCES part will work but not the TIME MACHINE part.
I contacted lacie again, they have given it the highest priority issue and will release an update within the 4 days.
let's cross the fingers
IF YOU USED MY SOLUTION don't forget to deactivate once you get an update from lacie:
Open terminal
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_disabled_uams -array-add “DHCAST128″
Lacie rolled out An update for all nas systems this night it fixes the issue
The update fixed accessing my shares but TM is still not working.
Selecting the drive seems to work normal but once the backup really start writing the data the following message is reported: TM does not support the required AFP protocol.
Anybody else OSX 10.7 TM with Lacie Network Space (FW:1.2.93) working?
indeed the .93 soilves the access. but i have receaved a .95 beta this solves the TM issue for me.
but i can not distribute it for the moment
Do you know when it will be available (more or less) for all the users? My Macbook backup are on there and that is the primary function of the NAS.
Thanks!
I think Lacie will be bringing the update very shortly to the public.
cause western digital dit released the update allready:
Please follow these instructions:
