Tabs Refresh Automatically in Safari 5.1?

Why do tabs automatically refresh in Safari 5.1?

Try this: Have at least ten websites in different tabs in the same window. Go to "Reset Safari..." in the "Safari" menu. Uncheck the "Close all Safari windows" and then click "Reset". What the **** Apple.

Also, the spinning beach ball of death does not appear when I move the mouse to the bookmark bars or toolbar. Why?

I am also having the page refresh issue with Safari 5.1.4 on Lion. Safari will spontaneously refresh all of my pages. This is particularly annoying with Flash apps, as the apps often reset themselves when this happens. The issue seems to happen most when I am low on memory (running a lot of applications).

These are the add-ons I have (automatic updates for add-ons are enabled):

Page One

ClickToFlash

Fireballed

Worked for me! 🙂

Is this for Mac or Windows? I'm running Windows. It also looks like it's for touch screens or iOS devices. This is for a Windows 7 Acer Aspire running Windows Safari 5.1

When I put this in:

defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeInternalDebugMenu 1

I get "Page cannot be found"

What now? 😟

Right now I want to kill all the animals!APPLE - you are supposed to provide convenience and ease of use but as a loyal Mac user, I am having to learn 3 different OS and the track pads are all different. ANd this ANNOYING Safari 5.1 has just wasted hours of my tiume. I swear I will deinstall this rediculous and totallyt amateur product of yours that is running in the "animal kingdom".

Yes, this is absurd, and an insult to all their loyal customers.... I would love to go back to 5.1, as I "downgraded" Safari, back to the non-buggy 5.0.5. Not being the most up-to-date, some streaming media won't work (so I use FF or Chrome), but at least it doesn't have this annoying issue, or the wack "auto-fill" that doesn't auto-fill, etc... Why they don't fix these things is pretty inexplicable.

It's not true. It starts reloading because the WebKit processes crashes. Either by a hanging page (which asks you to force reload, en then: kaboom), or by opening too much tabs, or by opening a few tabs too fast if you already have a lot of tabs open. It is very annoying. What's even more annoying is that OSX and Safari is swapping anonymous pages, pages you are actually using, to swap while there is plenty of available/inactive memory free. And another annoying one is that when flash player crashes, it is not restarted untill you quit and restart safari (you'll get a black box instead). All this stuff is really really REALLY annoying me.

APPLE - FIX IT.

This stuff should have been fixed a year ago. I'm really thinking about going back to FreeBSD as I only switched because stuff on OSX always 'just worked' for me (no mess to get wifi to work etc). And since Lion this is not true anymore: wifi is unstable, safari starts refreshing/hanging and not restarting flash, the paging algorythm is HORRIBLE, MIDI is seriously broken, mtmd/mds does not play nice when you are doing heavy IO and needs to be manually disabled/tweaked so it doesn't interfere with your work, ... can you tell all this stuff is really annoying me???

I recently gave up on Safari. It's just not sufficiently stable for me. I like to open multiple tabs, but with Safari (at least on my machine) if I open too many tabs, the browser will hang at the most inopportune moment. To prevent this from happening, I have to close and reopen the browser periodically, which is just a pain.

I swtiched (back) to Camino, but quickly learned that there are too many websites that Camino cannot properly render. Plus it gets sluggish when one opens multiple tabs.

So now I have adopted Chrome as my regular browser. It's taking me a little bit to get used to it, but at least I am finding it more stable than either Safari or Camino.
