Wifi won't turn on since upgrade to Lion

First of all, my apologies if i make alot of gramar/spell errors, english is not my native language.

Yesterday i've upgraded my Snow Leopard installation to Lion on my late 2008 macbook pro and from the beginning i am unable to start my Wifi/Airport card. The menu bar shows the wifi icon but with no signal bars. When i click the wifi icon and press 'Turn wifi on' nothing happens. System profiler shows the airport card and when i look in Console i can see that the system recognizes the wifi card and acknowledge it's mac address.

What i've tried so far:

- I've created another user account

- I performed a clean install on a second harddrive, same problem

- i rolled back to Snow Leopard and the airport card functions as it should be, this rules out a hardware failure

- I've deleted all files in /library/preferences/SystemConfiguration and rebooted

- I've created a new location with only the Airport card under System preferences - Network

- I've made the airport card inactive and active again

I did found some strange messages in Console but they are not very clear: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/718/screenshot20110721at102.png/

I too am having problems with wifi connections after upgrade to Lion from Snow Leopard on my IMac. Repeated turning wifi on and off eventually accomplishes the connection. If I walk away and the computer goes to standby, I loose the connection again. So annoying that I'm considering reinstalling Snow Leopard that was working just fine. This many people having issues and no response from Apple. What's up with that.

Same issue here. Worked fine for one day then just stopped . I've tried everything mentioned in this thread but nothing changes. Bad, bad timing for me. I sure hope Apple addresses this or I will have to back up to SL. The last line in the specs says it all

I am having the same issue. If I turn my wifi off and then attempt to turn it back on, it will not turn on. I have to reboot the computer to get it back.

I have this same config and I have the same issue.... it actually started back in Snow Leopard, which I believe is different then many people here have reported. It's the reason I upgraded to Lion in hopes of getting my wifi back. It got to the point where I reboot would "fix" the issue but it never lasted long. Sometimes minutes, sometimes a day.

With Lion Ihad wireless support for a few days, even after sleeping the system. Now it is dead. A reboot seems to have no impact. Just an empty pie slice up by my clock... I want my pie back.

I think if you do some digging you will actually see this has been an issue for Apple for quit some time. not just with Lion. I'm rather disappointed Apple has let it go on this long. It's been nearly a year for me. It was nice to see people posting interactions they had with Apple engineers but that seems to have gone cold now.
