Wifi won't turn on since upgrade to Lion

I was able to fix it by resetting the PRAM. So far I've rebooted twice and WiFi is still working.

How did you reset the PRAM?

It seems that resetting SMC/PRAM/NVRAM has worked for a few people, but doesn't solve the problem for most of us. If you want to learn how to do any of those things, just Google it to bring up the Apple Support Page.

The only workaround that works for me is replacing of the SystemConfiguration folder after each restart (kevinrobers dicussed this in more detail a few posts up).

I don't think it will solve the problem (since I think it's probably firmware related), but there is now an official way to do a clean install of Lion if someone wants to give it a try: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433

Same problem here.

MBPRO 5,1 and no Wi-Fi since Lion was installed (on a fully updated SL system).

Apple this is a big issue. An epic fail.

It's about a month, now and no solution.

I actually emailed iTunes/Mac App Store support asking for a refund of lion and the guy was of no help.

He presented me with several options including this forum and also Express Lane support - none of which will help the issue, I'm sure. This fix has to come from the top.

I have just updated to Lion tonight and the wifi would not turn on. The fix for me was to reboot and it seems fine now, no need to reset or remove battery just a simple restart worked. But if this is required it should be in the install.

Deleting /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and rebooting worked for me until I reboot or returned from sleep...

There is no fix. We'll await an update from Apple in due course. They are working on it.

10.7.1 just released and it has seemingly fixed the issue for me. When I clicked on the WiFi symbol on the menu bar, it took a couple extra seconds to load all of the available networks. I chose mine (which I hadn't been able to do before) and it connected right away.

Have you updated to 10.7.1? I was made live about 1 hour ago.

10.7.1 appears to have resolved the problem. I have shut down and rebooted and still have a wireless connection for the first time since installing Lion. Very pleased, though disappointed it happened in the first place, especially as it happened with Snow Leopard as well.
