Lion preview signature is wrong orientation

Loving the iSight signature creator - amazing. I've created my signature and now I want to use it.

However, when clicking it into the document it comes out rotated by 90 degrees, i.e. at a tangent to the document. Rotating the document does not help (and shouldn't).

The signature looks fine and is landscape in the signature dropdown, it's just when it is used.

I note that the annotations have no rotate handle on them so I can't even twist it around?

Am I missing something?

The answer was to go to "File ->Export" and save as a new PDF. There's something about PDFs that are generated from a certain version of Acrobat which have this problem.

There's an even easier solution to this very frustrating problem. Open your original pdf in preview, then choose "file - > duplicate". Then add the signature in this second (duplicated) version. For some reason the original pdf will rotate the signature but the second (duplicate) version orientates it the right way.
