I am tryng to troubleshoot MS exchange server issues I am having with my Mail application on my MacBook. The back story: all applications including mail, calendar, notes and reminders were working up until last week sometime (01/2012). Now I am experiencing several issues (2 POP accounts, 2 exchange, 1 iCloud):

I keep getting pop up messages to enter my password or that the password I entered has been rejected; mainly in my POP mail accounts and one exchange account.

My other exchange account is the one that is troubling me the most because the server name and password are not being accepted anymore and now none of my linked applications are showing my calendar, notes, contacts or mail.

I have reveiwed about 4 pages of your comments since last July and have tried most of them and I am really disappointed that nothing has worked and that no one is available at Apple or with my IT shop to assist (they don't support Macs).

Finally, my mobile devices are syncing properly with the credentials that I have been given in the past. Those credentials are identical to what I was using in the Mail application and now are not working. I upgraded to Lion sometime ago, so I am not sure if that is the problem.

Any assistance on these issues will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm from Switzerland and I'm experiencing those problems too. I have an inhouse Exchange Server 2010.

None of the suggestion to resolve it in this thread worked for me. It's for me clearly an issue with Lion. I had no problems with Snow Leopard.

My thing is that over the course of the last months I had periods it was working fine connecting to my Exchange Server. But suddenly it stops working. This was the reason I came back to this forum and discovered this thread.

I hope when Lion Mountain is out the support of Exchange accounts get better.

Thanks

Edy

If you are checking two accounts on the same server, then having two paths to the server might help. It worked for me. One path is the domain name (mail.server.com) and the other can be the IP address. If you need to check more accounts then you might be able to set up more CNAMES that point to your server to accomplish it.

Tried:

1.In Finder, open your Utilities folder and double-click Keychain Access

2.Once Keychain Access loads, in the menubar, click "Keychain Access" -> "Preferences"

3.In the Preferences window, click "Certificates"

4.Change the dropdown for "Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP):" to "Off"

5.Change the dropdown for "Certificate Revocation List (CRL):" to "Off"

6.Close the Preferences window

7.Quit Keychain Access

8.And you're done!

but this did NOT work for me, still takes 2-3 Min to start up Apple mail on my

Mac OS X 10.7.4

3.06 GHZ INTEL CORE 2 Duo MacBook Pro

Mail 5.2 (build 1278)

Using MS Exchange with Internal/External Server = EWS/Exchange.asmx Port 443

Why does mail 'hang' as seen in activity monitor?

Is there any simple cure, other than downgranding to Snow Leopard where mail starts in a second or two,

and also works on my iPad (3) and iPhone (4).

I resolved the issue in my case. After looking careful at event logs on the Exchange 2010 server. It was an issue with the IIS bindings.

I would recommend to all who has the issue to tackle it from the Exchange side as well. It may not always be the Mail application.

One thing which stills bother me a bit, is when new mail arrives Mail receive it with a delay. Although next ot the Exchange Mail accounte a circle is busy all the time..

Thanks,

Edy
