Hi Kate III,

I have had no such problems and I've upgraded three machines to Lion including a 2006 iMac (which I also upgraded to Lion server), a 2008 Macbook Pro and a 2011 Macbook Pro.

You may need to change some of the default settings if you're using a mouse for example. The default settings mean that you can easily active forward or backwards buttons, or zoom features accidentally when using a mouse.

I've also had no problems with printers.

Did you try contacting Apple support with your issues?

Hi doubleodd,

Why couldn't HP have told you that? From what I've read of your posts, HP just blamed Apple, but Apple actually helped you configure an HP product, and also gave you good information about which driver to actually use, without getting into just a blame game.

That is my experience with HP as well, and your experience just confirms it for me. It must be in their training. We have Windows computers at work, and on a number of occassions speaking to a variety of HP support people (including "high level" as you say), they have blamed Microsoft for problems with HP printers, and talking to Microsoft they have blamed HP.

But in your case it looks like it was Apple that actually helped you, and gave you the information that you needed and that was actually useful.

Late adopter (last week, on a MBP) to Lion, initially at 10.7.1.

Observing the subsequent update to 10.7.2, I noticed it was installing new HP printer drivers. OK, so far so good, this has worked fine in the past.

Printing to an old PSC2510 was initially problematic, but careful exploration of the options in the strangely-changed Print Dialogue Box eventually gets it doing what I need *but*...

'Print pages from/to' seems not to work, ie it results in it printing all the pages ('Print this page' works just fine).

Minor glytch it may be, but if you get a paper jam in the middle of a label run, it's incredibly frustrating to then get it to print the missing page onto the right feedstock.

Is this a known bug, or am I doing something dumb?

I installed Lion shortly after is came out and had no problems until a few weeks ago. Since I upgraded to 10.7.3, I've twice found that the driver for my HP OfficeJet Pro K5400 has disappeared. To add to the frustration, the Print & Scan preferences panel tells me that I can install a driver from Apple, but then announces that it isn't currently available.

The HP site, meanwhile, tells you to get the drivers from Apple. I eventually found them somehere on the HP site (I'm afraid I can't remember where).

There's something very wrong here.

Thanks a lot - I was nearly giving up getting my new MBP with Lion to wirelessly connect to my Brother laserwriter. Installed AirPort Utility 5.6 (it's an old AX - only g). Now I was able to reset til AX. Still no printer to be seen. Restarted the AX - still no printer to be seen.

Read your post - restarted the router aand voila!

I love the support I often find here 😍

But alas: Today my MBP with 10.7.3 couldn't see the printer again. Another mac in the house running Leopard had no problems. Tried to restart both printer, computer and network. Nothing.

Then I turned off wi-fi on the mac and turned it on again, and now I can print again.

Seems to be problems with Lion and wi-fi (my AppleTV 3 is also having trouble connecting to the mac and vice-versa)
