Hi there,
is there any idea, how to fax hardware-based with Lion?
It's not without arrogance that Apple does not support its own fax-modem any longer unter 10.7 and I look for an alternative that does the fax-job with Lion on my iMacs or Macbook...

I bought an inexpensive USB FAX modem and hooked it to my Mac Mini. In Lion, printer settings, I added a FAX printer, configured it and it works fine, out of the box!
My iMac is connected to a cable modem with voice. Do I stil need the zoom? Thanks.

Systemeinstellungen>Drucken & Scannen für Weiteres Gerät “+“
aktivieren.
Unter angezeigten Geräten ihr bisheriges Faxgerät auswählen
“Software“ suche abwarten:,
dann unter Verwenden , “Andere“
Wählen.
in Pfad: System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/versions/A/Frameworks/P rintCore.framework/Versions/A/Resources Datei “Fax.ppd“ auswählen
Unter Verwenden wird als dann “Faxdrucker“angegeben

schon ist das alt bekannte Faxgerät installiert.
Bei mir isses das interne Modem auf nem mittlerweile bald 10 Jahre altem PowerBook G4.
