Thanks a lot for your reply. I need some time to set this all up at home, but I'll definitely try this out. But I'm not sure it will work for me. The way I see it is that the share is connected to the Snow Leopard VM using iSCSI. Snow Leopard then shares it out to the main os (Mountain Lion) using Apple's built in file sharing. This way you can access them, but the protocol will be AFP. Right? I hope this is not going to be a problem when I'm trying to create a bootable backup from my MacBook to an over the network connected external hard drive.

Hi! If you are still trying to find a good iSCSI Initiator for Mac, I can recommend you the one that I use. It is a software from DAEMON Tools - Lite for Mac (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/products/dtMacLite), - which allows mounting images and has an embedded iSCSI Initiator for the additional price. The price is lower than the cost of the competitors, and moreover, you can use it for free during the trial period to find out if it works for you. Hoзуб it will help.

For those tech savvy users who are willing to try a new open-source iSCSI initiator for OS X, please see:

https://github.com/iscsi-osx/iSCSIInitiator

It is functional, yet lacks certain features and conveniences (e.g., advanced error recovery, packaged installer). Any developers in this forum who are willing or wanting to participate please contact the project owner.

Hello there,

I have tried to run your iscsi initiator but I have failed. I can't seem to be able to run the shell scripts

Marcs-Air:iSCSIInitiator-master marc$ ./load.sh

Password:

cp: ./DerivedData/iSCSIInitiator/Build/Products/Debug/iSCSIInitiator.kext: No such file or directory

chmod: /tmp/iSCSIInitiator.kext: No such file or directory

chown: /tmp/iSCSIInitiator.kext: No such file or directory

/tmp/iSCSIInitiator.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) not found; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

cp: ./DerivedData/iSCSIInitiator/Build/Products/Debug/iscsid: No such file or directory

chmod: /tmp/iscsid: No such file or directory

chown: /tmp/iscsid: No such file or directory
