Where has the 'bounce email' feature gone from Lion?

Mail works OK after upgrade to LIon, I have set it up in classic mode for now. However, I can't find the 'bounce email' feature. This used to be a good way to reduce spam.

Please Apple, let me have this feature back.

Use an ISP with a SPAM trip on their servers.

Then any SPAM is trapped on the servers at your ISP in addition to any virus and most malware containing email.

The ISP I use allows me to periodically go in to see what has been trapped. I can then release any email that I want and delete the rest from their servers without it ever touching my Mac.

With that kind of service from my ISP, I don't need no stinking "bounce".

I didn't even realize how bounce worked until I posted the link to bring it back and got all the scathing comments. I didn't end up using it as a result of having it explained so politely....not....

Over the past 3 weeks I have gone from maybe 1 spam email every few months to up to 40 a day. In researching what might be the cause and how to fix the problem I came across these posts about Bounce being removed from Lion. Having just upgraded to Lion, I assumed this was the reason I was now receiving a ton of email spam. I didn't even know Bounce existed prior to this.

Since I know understand how bounce works and don't use it, it would be really helpful if anyone has any insight into the enormous jump in email spam and how I might handle it.

I really don't think there is any cure for spam, I think you can just handle it economically. I've taken the time to go to Apple Mail "Rules" in Mail Preferences and added and edited the rules according to the features of the spam I get. This sends most spam to the trash as it arrives.

The other thing I use is SpamSieve which does a pretty good job of catching malignant stuff.

It's nasty and annoying but at the monent I think it's part of our digital life.

I went on the internet and did a search for ISPs located in the Colorado. I then started calling them and asked them questions about their operations. When I called Front Range Internet Inc and they told me that they used Linux servers, had tech support for the Mac and they told me they used MailArmory for spam and virus protection I went with them.

The best spam blockers dont rely completely on any rules or logic. They use people...the community, to vote and ID SPAM.

Each email is fingerprinted and the votes along with the trustworthiness of the individual voters and some of the typical rules and logic are used to kill SPAM very very effectivly.

Cloumark Desktop for MS Outlook does it this way and allows almost zero SPAM through. Even a message that was only a picture with no text. I wish they made it for Mac or Apple would you the SPAM button in mail to the same effect.
