Thanks Pastor.

I took a look & I', thinking steermouse is for, well, mice. . I'm using a trackbal ( Kensington Expert Mouse ).

I have to say I think Kensington are well off the mark just dropping features like this. .

I shall foray for an answer or an alternative product. .

Regards . .

I looked. .

If you're using a trackball with Track works, hold shift to scroll horizontally, alt to zoom in & out .

I'm rolling again !

Anyone contemplating buying the rather expensive K64325 trackball should understand that

the Trackball Works software from Kensington doesn't work with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

Kensington is NOT Macintosh friendly. Don't be fooled by any promises by them.

Also, their support team consists of people in India who cannot speak North American English.

You have been warned.

Success!

My Kensington Expert Mouse PRO (Model #64213) works on Mac OS 10.7.5 with Mouseworks 3.0 now that I set my MacPro to boot in 32-bit kernel rather than 64-bit. Here's the KB article on how to set your Mac to boot with 32-bit kernel rather than 64:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773

NOTE: I have read that 10.8 only allows for a 64-bit kernel, so if you are a die hard old school trackball user and need Mouseworks, it seems like you'll have to stick with 10.7.x unless or until there is another option.

PS: I tried Steermouse, and wasn't happy with it. There weren't enough options to customize the various buttons on my trackball like Mouseworks, i.e. "chording".
