Quicktime 10.1 and Lion does not work correctly. Anyone have a fix?

Nothing seems to work correctly.

Loop doesn't work most of the time.

Closing a video quits Quicktime.

Really, really bad work here Apple.

From my first experiences, Lion was NOT ready to be released.

Since upgrading to Lion Quicktime no longer will play MOV created from Keynote. Quicktime does work on non Keynote created Quicktime videos. I went back and re-rendered my videos from Keynote thinking the new rev might have something to do with it, no such luck. When you try to play a .MOV in Quicktime created from Keynote it will hang. You have to force quit. I took my MAC into the MAC store, G-Bar never saw anything like this before and did not have a fix. Wanted to keep my fairly new MACPro overnight, but I am hoping to find a solution on-line since this is my work computer.

😟 Dont work correctly, the GUI freezes, you cant do anything only some videos are reproduce, the problem also seems to affect safari sometimes the video totally freezes or all safari tabs become white. When quicktime gets this problems the only way you can close it, is command Q or W.

And there is another problem whit finder if i use command Q in finder, finder process is killed and it wont restart until you press the finder dock icon.

I have just received an update, i will see if it fix both problems ➕. Reseting.

Sorry English 😀

After installing essential package of the mac os x installation folder, everything was the same.

So i start to think my quicktime does not have round borders, then i remenber onyx. Open onyx a start to reset everything to default. Was onyx Lion BETA

tada quicktime works nicely again, finder does to, safari cant get well whit randomurl/video.mp4 etc, freezes white tabs >S.

Pacifist dont work on Lion >D 2.6.4\

In the 10.7.1 upgrade says Fixed problems when safari reproduce some videos, and get frozen, still not fixed for me >(

I notice the following bug in QTX 10.1 Lion ( 10.7 and 10.7.1 ) :

Record a new Video in QT, then click on "Trim". I can move the trim slider only in one direction ( from the back to the beginning ), if I try to move it a second time or if I try to move the trim slider from the beginning part to the middle of the film, the trimming tool ( that yellow part ) goes totally mad, QTX Player becomes unresposive, the slider tools show visual distractions and the whole thing becomes totally unoperable. At this point I can only use Activity Monitor to stop QTX. then it will pop up a warning and asks if I want to save the trimmed file..

QTX 10.1 on Lion 10.7.2developer version ( 11c37 ) does not have those issues, so it is definately a bug of Lion and per now for usual customers not solved.

Very bad to release such quality to the public, Apple ( plus the bad performance and instability of Lion which is also only semi-cured in 10.7.1 .. ).

I just bought a new top o' the line MacBook Pro. I tried playing various clips that I have collected. They all played fine on my previous MBP, running the previous version of the OS. They open in Quicktime and play once. Then they will not play. Looping doesn't work either. Oddly, yesterday I tried it again and it worked. Now it's back to square one. Not working. What in the **** is going on?!

We’ve discovered a bug in QuickTime 10.1 running on the MAC Lion OS. We've run some tests and discovered that when we open a multi-language MP4 file in QuickTime 10.1, the player DOES NOT select the first language track as the default (no check mark). Instead, it plays all tracks together until the user selects one of the tracks.

This is not the case with QuickTime 10.0 running on Snow Leopard. QT 10 selects the first soundtrack as default (check mark) as it should. Looks like this is a bug with the QT 10.1.

Quicktime 10.1 and Lion does not work correctly. Anyone have a fix?
