Can't copy files from USB drive to Lion OSX

I just got the new MacAir and wanted to copy files from MacBookPro via USB drive.

Anytime I copy files from the drive to Air, the file dissapears (literally) as soon as copy complets.

The size or content does not matter.

I can not copy dmg, but can mout the same from USB drive and install applications.

Any ideas?

Ok, I am in the same situation as you, guys. I tried to copy a simple pdf file and a jpeg picture to my Western Digital 1TB External HD or to my Lacie 20MB HD, no way to paste it or move it.

I tried the Apps/utilities/Disk Utility trick, useless. I cannot move anything to my HD. Repair disk permissions, nope, doesn't work either. The only thing that works is my USB Lexar of 8GB. So, please Apple, your help is needed here! :-(

Hi biblehouse if copying from Mac to External drive is your issue can you select the external drive from the desktop and press Command - i. Please check if the Format is NTFS. If it is then the only permission that you have on that drive is to Save (Read Only Permission). You will need to Format the External drive to Mac OS EXtended format to be able to Save (Read and Write Permission).

if its ok to reset the view of your desktop please do this. On Finder Menu select Go then hold alt/option. When you see the Library Menu Select it. Once In Library folder look for "Preferences". Locate com.apple.finder.plist (also the finder LockFile). Drag those on to your desktop and try to restart. After that check if you can copy from your USB
