iTunes 10.4 killed "Show Icon Preview" Pic on desktop

iTunes 10.4 broke it for 10.6 too. I had to restore from backup. We can only file bug reports and wait for Apple to issue a fix, and hope it doesn't take as long as last time.

So is this what I am experiencing too? - MBP, 10.6.7, iTunes 10.4.

Used to show the embedded album art as the icon preview in the finder and still does for old unmodified files but for all new files or ones that have been modified (eg. change the file name) they revert back to the music note icon.

It's OK in icon view mode but not in column or list. Cover flow results in album art at the top but not in the list below.

Same here, I miss that.

I usually don't update itunes since it always provide update for iphone and/or ipad usage and I don't have any.

When I installed lion on a partition with itunes 10.4 already installed, I was so mad it broke the preview for the mp3 files, such a stupid beahavior...

It's been a few weeks now and still no update to correct this, nonsense.

I guess not enough people are complaining so they don't really care about correcting this.

Lion seems nice but I was satisfied with SL and kinda wish I didn't upgrade because of this.

Actually it's the same for iTunes 10.4 on Snow Leopard too

I really hope they fix this soon. It is incredibly annoying and very difficult to tell which file belongs to which album in list mode.

so 10.4 is responsible, no matter what OS you're running.

tried installing 10.5 beta on lion, no change.

only way is to downgrade to 10.3 which is no problem under SL but not sure it can run on Lion though.

guess I will live totally without iTunes for a while especially since the great Vox app is now running on Lion with its just released beta version.

might even give Songbird another try until apple gets this problem fixed... if they care doing so.

I hope they fix this soon in 10.5; it's an extremely annoying bug that seems easy to fix (ds.store corruption?).

They don't seem to take it seriously, probably because most people don't care about this matter and didn't even notice.

No update fixing this issue so far, they could have fix it with a 10.4.something but no. Maybe this won't even be corrected in 10.5.

More than two months and no fix.

If I could synch my iPod with Songbird, I would have trash iTunes a pretty while ago.

yeh.... this version 10.5 (beta 8 no correct) i tested..... very problem...

It seems to be limited to music because I don't have this problem when I give my mp4's cover art. As far as I can tell it started with Lion + iTunes 10.

hope they switch it back soon. at least they could give you the option. Is it that hard??
