It's not a bluetooth issue.

Not directly but it can affect Bluetooth. If this resolves some symptoms, then great!

I finally tried the Accell B087B-006B adapter that Chael Sonnen talked about on Dec.12, 2011 I have been using this for about a week now and NO mouse issues with both monitors running. It was $28 shipped from Amazon and well worth it for me. I had tried everything else and per his post I ordered this and what a difference for me at least.

Tried suggestions about extra monitors (that is, tried with and without my external monitor). I tried with the USB dongle attached to every USB port on the MPB and peripherals, and integrated vs. discrete graphics cards. Nuttin'.

Then I switched my mouse out from the wireless USB Performance MX back to an old wired USB generic MS mouse. Problem vanished instantly. I enjoy a usable, non-stuttering pointer a lot more than I miss the smoother action and extra buttons of the MX.

Are people still having the mouse issues in 10.7.3 or did it clear up for some?

Yes! The 10.7.3 patches did fix my problems.

I believe that describes my version of the problem (or at least a part of it). My issues are gone now and I hope it's the same resolve for others too.

10.7.3 did nothing to overcome the problems I have got with my mouse on a MacPro.

I'm encountering

- (often:) single clicks are interpreted as double-clicks (a huge pain)

- (from time to time:) cursor jumps

- (a bit more than just from time to time:) clicking isn't recognized at all

if 10.7.4 does not come up with a fix, I'll bite the bullet and downgrade to Snow Leopard…

I have the annoying mouse acceleration / lag / skipping issue with my MBP 2010 (15" i7).

I used it until now mainly as a laptop with the laptop mouse pad. I recently added two DELL 23" LED Monitors and a Matrox DUalHead2GO DP edition (to extend my desktop across my laptop screen and both DELL monitors). I was using a Microsoft optical mouse and noticed wrist problems developing where it was never an issue previously. I also noticed fighting with the mouse cursor and having to constant make correction when performing work in each screen, bouncing between them. So I bought a new mouse (Logitech G500 on sale - No Mac Drivers) and the problem still existed though not as bad. After wasting many hours researching this problem, and testing the issue on my setup and I narrowed it down to iTunes.

Yes iTunes, for me, is the culprit.

I bought Decelerator from the App store and disabled mouse acceleration. I have my G500 configure to medium for DPI and I have set on the mouse firmware the usb polling to 125 (used a windows box to do that with logitech's setpoint software).

Though the mouse acceleration *** on the Mac compared to windows since I started using OS X 10.1-10.7, it's now injury causing calibre.

So until Apple fixes it, I cannot use iTunes when working on it while using an external mouse, connected to extended displays.

I've just upgraded from SL to 10.7.3 and I am having an erratic mouse behaviour, although less problematic than those I've read before. So, the problem is still there

My setup is

MBP 13" early 2011

External display connected through HDMI

Logitech MX Laser 1000 (yes, almost 15 years and it still beats the younger generation)

I'll try the suggested fixes but none are attractive (stop using 2nd disply and/or iTunes)

I want to report back and say that my problems were not fixed, the weird mouse behaviour does flare up after my Summer '10 iMac running Lion 10.7.3 returns from sleep mode. Unfortunately I can't edit my old post, but it is not fixed for my machine.

I am having the same issue as described by "OnMac".

The problem started when I hooked my MBP 15 (late 2009) to to external monitors, using the Matrox DualHead2Go DP edition.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I too finally narrowed the problem down to i-tunes. When i-tunes is running, the magic mouse starts to skip and show delays. I stop i-tunes and the problem disappears immediately.

I have contacted Matrox Tech Support in the process, and they have been very helpful. I am waiting to hear back from them, though, regarding my suspicion that the conflict is with i-tunes.

For the time being, I will simply avoid having i-tunes running, unless absolutely necessary. Not a very satisfying solution; so I hope someone will come up with something better.

I did some tests and in my case it seems is connecting the external display what causes the problems, which in my case are basically lack of precission using the mouse. (Logitech MX 1000)

I couldn't appreciate any difference whether iTunes is running or not.

I also couldn't find any difference if both displays were active or just the external one (i.e. MBP's lid closed)

The issue is restricted to the mouse, the trackpad works fine in every set up I tested
