It would seem to be that the original poster of this topic was encouraging patience and civility. Sure, with any new release, there are expected bugs. However, I remember my days with a PC. Any OS update from Microsoft was a sure enough "shot in the dark." I dared not upgrade until version .02 was released. Therefore, the upgrade to Lion has been rather smooth comparatively.
For the vast majority of those of us who have upgrade to Lion, the transition has been relatively painless. However, there are those who have experienced geniune grief and frustration over some issue (both major and minor). For those who have those issues, just kindly and plainly state the issue. I have found that the users of the Support Forum are very helpful. A couple of the issues that I had, proved to be on my side of the equation and not on Apple's. If it is a genuine Apple issue, the give them the benefit of the doubt. No one would accuse Apple of deliberatly releasing a faulty OS. After all, such a decision would be detrimental to the company profits. Apple desires to please the customer. Therefore, if there is a legitimate issue, Apple will resolve it.
Many of the issues that I have seen raised are not bonafide. The expectation to have ancient software (i.e., older than three years) run on a newly release OS is neither reasonable or right. That woud be equivalent to me expecting my old WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS to run under Windows 7. As hardware improves, software must also. The question to be asked before you upgrade to any system is, "Can I afford the ancillary cost that will be needed to make this system work?" If the answer is "no," then stay with the system that is working for you.
Well, this is just one man's opnion. Take that opinion and $3 to your local Starbucks, and you can get a cup of coffee. 🙂
