Lion animation glitchy

The animations in lion (launchpad, mission control etc) are really choppy and glitchy for my computer.

I have a MacPro 2009 2x 2.26ghz, 8gb RAM, ati HD 5770

Which more then meets the requirements of lion, but the animations are terrible

Anyone else seeing this problem? nor does anyone know how I could fix this up?

I did a clean install of lion on a 115gb SSD

I tryed ressesting the PRAM but that did nothing

cheers

hi thom4s,

I had this problem too. I formatted and re installed once to solve that. But a few days later, it happened again. I found the solution accidentaly. I opened a program I rarely use than all fixed.

I have an idea about this. Some apps make corruption in system files. I think it's "open the last windows I close" thing. When you open the last program which made your computer laggy everything is ok again.

Try to launch all program u used in last a few days than close windows first than quit application.

I think this will work.

Hey everyone, first post here. I've had glitchy issues with animations in Lion. Never had them with Snow Leopard. I have a late 2008 Unibody Macbook with Nividea Graphics. I've used Onyx to clear cache which helped, but it was only temporary. I found a solution that seems to have solved the problem.

Follow the youtube video for all the details. I have no idea what the ill effects are of modifying this extension file so don't come back to me if it harms your machine. My animations are now perfectly smooth.

Give it a shot.

I think i found where the bug in launchpad is.

Launch Launchpad and push (command B) on your keyboard. That will remove the blur behind the icons, thats what i did and mine is working way smoother now.

You can also press the keys (command B) again and your background behind the icons in launchpad will be black and white. Another press of these keys will bring you back to the blur again!

I think the bug in launchpad relates to the blur effect apple developers have not smoothed out the effect yet.

Cheers!
