Swiping pages is wrong direction?

I have turned off the silly natural scroll direction and reverted back to in my opinion how it should be, but when I swipe between pages in safari left and right are the wrong direction, what's going on here? we have the option to turn of natural scroll direction but it does not work when swiping between sites, work etc...can someone please show me where I am going wrong as this is driving me mad. When Natural scroll direction is ticked swiping works fine?

Swiping pages is based off of horizontal scrolling. Natural scrolling controls both Verticle and Horizontal scrolling, thus when you turn it off you reverse the Horizontal scrolling and reverse the page swiping. I agree it is totally backwards but there is no way that I know of to change ONLY Horizontal scrolling.

I know what you mean fusinski. Apple to tend to be a bit stubborn in the 'if you want to use our product you use it how we want you to use it sense'.. ala Flash, or lack there of on the iPhone and iPad. Adding the option to separate the x and y would imply that they are wrong. Not sure they'll admit to that! Maybe a third party app will provide a fix at some point.

If i could choose the scrolling and have no more kernel panics (four so far in less than 24 hours!) i would be happy with Lion. At the moment im having to think every time i scroll and am just waiting for the next grey screen.

Im trying to give it a go and maybe ill get used to it. Im back on natural now but my other mac is an original macbook that isnt upgradeable to Lion and in work i use macs ranging from 10.3 up to 10.6. My brain needs an upgrade i think as i can see this doing my head in when i switch between macs. Maybe when Lion becomes stable ill upgrade my work Mac Pro so it wont be so bad.

In my opinion the whole problem is based on two different ideas.

The first idea is the control by mouse, trackball and trackpad: then you don't use natural swiping.

You move your fingers or wheel in the direction that you want to go or to see on the screen.

This is the way it was since this devices are used, so we are used to it.

The second idea is the control by touching the screen: then you use natural swiping. And that this way

of control feels as natural is obvious. If you don't agree, just try the opposite on a screen and you see it

immediately.

Now more and more the touchscreen is used, so this way of controlling becomes more normal.

But we are looking to two different ways of controlling, and in my opinion mixing them up is a bloody thing

to do. It is not consistent, it is not Apple-like. I think lotst of developers felt lost and deserted because Steve

isn't there anymore, and they just didn't notice the inconsistency. Poor Steve, I'am sure he's turning in his grave.

I see it as a bug and it must be fixed ! It should be turned of as a default. Then those users with inconsistent

brains can turn them on again. And of course: if you turn off natural swiping in the vertical direction, it should turn

off in the horizontal direction too.

I turned it off: so it's off in the vertical direction now. But it can't be turned of in the horizontal direction.

I get grazy now. It makes my super Macbook Pro Retina a little bit less handy. Now I always have to remember that horizontal swiping is like touching the screen. I can't get used to it.
