Lion Issues on starting up

I've been having small issues when I start Lion since the day I upgraded. When I start it up, it takes about 35-45 sec, (not sure whats the average seconds it takes but before it was faster with SL), next issue: in the startup apple logo screen a progress bar shows up, when its done it goes to the account user screen where u have to log in, but i never had that set up when starting up, i havent put a password cause im the only one who uses the computer, but when it does this i have to log in so i do, then im on the desktop screen n i noticed on the right side of the menu bar i got no volume, and no wifi hardware detected, thats what it says. Im not sure if im on safeboot or what? but then when i restart my computer it restarts just fine, no progress bar, volume working n wifi good, n no user account log in screen, it just jumps to the desktop screen, like it should, these are the issues im having, so far...anyone here having a similar issue? or know what should i do?

Computer booted normally this morning. Hopefully the issue is resolved now. I've uninstalled TechTools Pro and updated some other programs running in the background.

Everyone has programs running in the background (close all programs and open the activity monitor to see the processes running). Most are services and processes belonging to the OS, but some are related to programs you have installed yourself. I have updated all those programs (that are continuously running) to the newest version. Furthermore, I was surprised to find that TechTools Pro has a program running in the background. I therefore uninstalled the program (through the installer, not just by deleting it). That seems to have done the trick sofar.

Hi Bram I've just done as you suggested and uninstalled techtools Pro5 using the installer DVD and restarted my iMac and it seems to have done the trick, thank you!

I noticed on the Techtools site yesterday it mentions a Lion upgrade coming soon so it may be resolved then. Interestingly my partner is running a MacPro 2.6ghz quad core intel xeon and isn't having any issues.

Thank you for your help!

hey, I'm having the same issues on my 2009 MBP! every second boot it seems just stuck and doesnt load the wifi, audio, clock, battery etc. icons in top left and when i launch system preferences and click on network it crashes and stuff like that!

but - i havent got tech tool pro installed what the heck 🙂

rebooting without the checked "restore blabla on reboot" worked sometimes, flashing prom too but still its really annoying almost on every boot!

software I have installed (probably running in background): dropbox, canon printer, little snitch, using rEFIt bootloader, gfxCardStatus, Growl...

I would really like to nail this down, pretty annoying!

Apart from uninstalling TechTools I also updated all software I found running in the background, including the Canon drivers (they have updated them last week) and Growl.

You can use MacUpdate Desktop (http://www.macupdate.com/desktop/) to check what software is outdated (but be aware that it sometimes says software is outdated if only a newer beta version is available, which you do not want to use on a system already posing problems).

Did you also have the same issues in SL?
