Lion Issues on starting up

I've been having small issues when I start Lion since the day I upgraded. When I start it up, it takes about 35-45 sec, (not sure whats the average seconds it takes but before it was faster with SL), next issue: in the startup apple logo screen a progress bar shows up, when its done it goes to the account user screen where u have to log in, but i never had that set up when starting up, i havent put a password cause im the only one who uses the computer, but when it does this i have to log in so i do, then im on the desktop screen n i noticed on the right side of the menu bar i got no volume, and no wifi hardware detected, thats what it says. Im not sure if im on safeboot or what? but then when i restart my computer it restarts just fine, no progress bar, volume working n wifi good, n no user account log in screen, it just jumps to the desktop screen, like it should, these are the issues im having, so far...anyone here having a similar issue? or know what should i do?

I just purchased my iMac a couple of weeks ago and installed Lion. The progress bar has appeared on at least 6 occassions and after finally opening, I llose my Wi-Fi connection and I have to re-boot. It then works perfectly. After each failure I repair my disc permissions. I don't think it is a HD problem, as when the iMac had Snow Leopard (installed on the iMac) this problem never occured. What gives Apple???

This is the third day I booted my iMac without turning keyboard and mouse on, and it's the third day it boots without problems (except that it is slow). Would this really be the underlying issue then? Let's hope so, and let's hope that Apple fixes this error soon; as it is definitely on their side, as re-installs did not help and it pertains to all-Apple hardware.

I have been having the same problem on my mid 2011 i5 iMac. With Snow Leopard I never had this issue. I always turned on my Mac, keyboard and mouse at about the same time and it always booted in less than 30 seconds. Now it almost always boots into safemode if the BT devices are on... but if I leave them on and click restart, everything works fine.

Perhaps this is a BT issue, or just an issue with Lion. I notice in a lot of threads Macbook Pro users have this safe boot with wifi gone and graphics are slow... what gives? They don't have a bluetooth keyboard or mouse, and they systems have the same problem as ours. There is definately a glitch in the Lion Boot Loader. As I suggested in other threads, all of us with this problem needs to send Apple an email in the Lion feedback section and call Apple Care if possible. The more of us that come together and report the issue, the sooner they will get a fix in the works.

Personally for me and I think some others is that we know it's nit a fault with lion as this issue was present with snow also, I have never had issues with wifi or anything else, only very slow boot or boot to safemode or login screen when it shouldn't, not using Bluetooth until boot makes these issues non existent. I feel it must be a Bluetooth issue, the machine just doesn't like two Bluetooth devices trying to connect at the same time

But some people have this issue on their Macbook Pros also. The trackpad and keyboard are hardwired. So there is no way for them to fix this issue since their devices are not BT. If you search for the amount of Macbook Pros reporting No Wifi hardware installed or booting into safemode... seems more than iMacs. I personally never had any issues with SL installed, only since Lion.

That is why instead of everyone asking about this on the forum, they should all send emails or give Apple Care a call so they can issue a fix for the bootloaders on Lion. I don't know if they really count our posts as much as they do from the feedback section or not.

I am having this problem on my IMAC 2011 i5. Summarising all my issues:

Similarly when I start it up, it takes about 35-45 sec, (my snow leopard starts up at 2 secs),

next comes the login screen which i do not normally see.

Thirdly, in the desktop right hand corner, the wireless card is not installed.

Did a restart and everything was fine. I sent my imac to service centre to do a hardware diagnostic and the result was there is no issue with hardware. So i concluded that it is a software issue due to the lion OS. Installing 10.7.1 update and resetting SMC controller does not help as well.

Have to patiently wait for updates from apple. Does anyone have Steve Jobs' email? I have summarised my abnormal start up problems pictorially in a word document ever ready to forward to him.
