How can I prevent mail attachments embedding when sending mail

In Lion when I send out an image - the recipients are receiving them as embedded images instead of simple attachments. I know in previous version of mail, having windows friendly attachments enabled solved this, but it doesnt seem to be helping in Lion mail.

It is not a bug. It is as designed. I cannot save a CMYK image in Photoshop Elements. Only the full version of Photoshop can do that. That is not a bug in Photoshop Elements. That is a design decision to make a consumer application easier to use and support. If you want that feature. You have to pay extra. How come there are two sets of rules - one for Apple and one for everyone else?

I respectfully disagree, however intentional, its a bug.

"

A software bug is the common term used to describe an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result, or causes it to behave in unintended ways."

In this case the defintion fits the program flaw, error, mistake, failure and fault of the programers.

Even well intentioned software by design can contain a flaw, error, mistake, failure or fault. Currently it would appear that all of these items are in fact present in the program, BY DESIGN.

It's a bug. It needs to be fixed. Plain and simple.

And please do not direct me to send feedback to apple again. That is what I am doing by posting this here, on an apple discussion list that the apple engineers that work on mail.app are fully aware of.

Let's get a fix.

It is a bug if it does not work as designed.

It is not a bug if it works as designed but the user does not like it that way.

Since it works as designed (it's not broken), there's nothing to fix.

You mean you would like them to change (not fix) the program to work as you think it should.

So you don't want to let Apple know of your requests?

They may be aware of it but they don't monitor these user-to-user forums.

You suggestions are far, far, far more likley to get read (and implemented) if you submit feedback.

Many of us have submitted bug reports on actual bugs in Apple Mail. Apple responds to those and, according to my own experiences and reports of others, their responses have always been that they have constructed Mail so that it is as easy easy as possible to use and that messages will appear on the recipients' machines as closely as possible as they appear on the sender's machine.
