4 ram slots

4 ram slots

I have a dual 2.0 that has 4 ram slots. If / when the proper type of 2gig ram sticks are available, will the machine be able to recognize all 8 gigs if I place a 2gig ram stick in each of the 4 slots ?

Finally found apple tech support number. Called and explained the issue and the (saturday afternoon) consensus was that no it will not recognize more than 4 gigs regardless of the chip size. Has anyone personally tried or witnesssed this to be true or not ?
