iMac keyboard numeric keypad not responding

Since installing Lion on my 24" iMac, the numeric keypad of my original iMac keyboard does not work anymore. I did reset the PRAM, but that did not do anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jean F.

Pondini and AMMOCAN were both right for me (on Yosemite)—thank you both SO MUCH:

  • If the numeric keypad still doesn’t work as you expect, you may have enabled Mouse Keys, which lets you move the pointer with the keypad.

To find the option that turns off Mouse Keys, choose Apple menu > SYSTEM PREFERENCES-->look down at ACCESSIBILITY User uploaded file(same row as Users&Groups)-->Mouse & Trackpad-->Unclick ENABLE MOUSE KEYS

  • It DOES NOT MATTER if you've clicked OPTIONS and selected a way to Toggle Mouse Keys. Enabling Mouse Keys AT ALL will mess up your number pad.
