Disable auto correct in Safari?

How can I disable auto correct in Safari? I edit HTML and CSS all day in a WYSIWYG editor and it keeps correcting and replacing all my tags. Even when I just open a file, make one change, it'll auto correct all instances of "center" to "centre" for example and it's extremely frustrating. I've looked in preferences and there seems to be no option to disable this annoyingly persistent problem.

I've gone back to Snow Leopard so I am telling you this from memory. Anyhow, go into System Preferences and click on the link for spelling. There will be a check box to disable system wide spell checking. Uncheck that, and you should be rid of that problem.

I found solution in Mavericks.

Go to System Preferences -> Language & Region -> Keyboard Preferences(button) -> Text(tab). Simply uncheck Correct Spelling Automatically(checkbox)

Restart Safari and you will notice that Edit -> Spelling and Grammar -> Correct Spelling Automatically option is no longer checked by default.

This 'feature' is most annoying in Safari when typing to enter an email address in a registration form. My name is short and I didn't notice it auto corrected to 'corn'. It is a system-wide default option that I discovered when searching here in the communities. It is not a Safari setting.

I am on Yosemite, OS X 10.10, and found the setting here:

System Preferences > Keyboard: Text tab

[X] Correct spelling automatically

Uncheck the box.
