Greetings!
I would like to know if anyone could explain how to back up a bootcamp partition in 10.7 Lion.
Winclone does not work in the new 10.7.
I see the partition in Disk Utility, but how do I back it up?
If I ever needed to restore it, how would one go about it?
I am not adverse to using a paid app for this task either.
Is there a way to clone the whole drive with both the Mac and Windows partitions in the resulting file?

Take a look at Paragons Backup & Recovery http://www.paragon-software.com/home/brh/features.html for a BootCamp Windows backup.
Sadly WinClone is no longer in development as the author has abandoned it completely.
A single-solution for both OSx and BootCamp Windows is not avaiable.
Carbon Copy Cloner is the one that comes closest to it, but at the moment can't make bootable clone of tthe BootCamp Windows http://help.bombich.com/kb/troubleshooting/can-ccc-back-up-my-bootcamp-windows-p artition

Paragon looks like it will work correctly.
I will give it a try.
Another new tool - I use TriBackup to sync folders on OS X as I find that very useful to have, and they have Clone X 4 w/ Lion support, looks good too, clone volumes, drives.
I also use Paragon HFS9 so I can read/write any HFS volumes. Their NTFS for OS X isn't ready for Lion, and HFS9 may or may not as well.
I found a native OS X Lion compatible backup utility:CopyCatX 5 from SubRosaSoft .
From their technical support department:
CopyCatX is Lion compatible.
To copy a bootcamp partition, the whole device has be cloned to avoid any data integrity issues. You will need to use Duplicate (and NOT Backup). Your source is the model of the internal drive. For example, Western Digital ACxxx..., or Fujitsu MHWxxx..., or Seagate ACxxx...

For BootCamp device, we suggest New Disk Image as your destination, and store it to an external drive.
To restore the disk image, double click on the disk image itself (on the destination drive), it will then be mounted on the desktop, then click on Duplicate (NOT Restore), select the mounted disk image as the source, and the drive you want to restore the drive to as the destination.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet under Lion, but I know that uner Snow Leopard Clonezilla would work just fine to backup both MacOS and BootCamp. I had used it to backup my internal drive in my MacBook Pro then restore onto a different drive and it worked with no issues.
On the MacOS side, I tend to prefer to use SuperDuper to clone/backup my OS partition. It has served me well for the 3-4 years I've been using this Mac.
Lion has recovery partition that SD and CCC won't copy.
Clone X 4 will do full drive sector copy.
Paragon demo software is usually 30 day, full feature support.

Create an Image with hdiutil (Disk Utility). Mount DMG and open Terminal. Run 'sudo ditto [src] [dst]' to put back to new Volume.
Mr. Campbell - can you give more detail about the "create an image" of your suggestion? What partition type, etc should be used? Can it be a sparse bundle? Thanks ...
