cannot acces NAS nore print through the NAS

[MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.

Hello,

Before, with OSX 10.6 everything worked flawlesslÿ:

I could acces the files on my Qnap TS-101, it was automatically connected as a network drive and I could print by using the TS-101 as print server.

1. After a new install of Lion I could not approach the TS-101 any more.
That problem is partly solved by turning on "DHCAST128".
Now I can contact the TS-101, but it is not automatically connected.

2. C an not print any more with the print server of the TS-101.
I get different messages like:
This printer has been paused. Do you want it to resume printing?
If I go into the printer properties (COSMOPR) I see " Printer Paused", after Resume printer "Unable to connect to printer" "Printer Paused"

I would like to have the same connectivity back!
What could I do...? Is there workaround? Install Samba on the MAC? Downgrade to OSX 10.6?

Thanks!
Basilio

Hi,

I had the same printer problem with my Buffalo Linkstation NAS.

This is how it worked for me:

- delete your old printer

- add a new printer

- hold "ctrl" and klick on "default" in the toolbar, then "customize toolbar"

- add "advanced" to your toolbar

- select type "LPD"

- complete the url with your printers ip (e.g. lpd://192.168.1.11/lp)

- select your printers driver

- klick add

I hope this works for you, too.

I have the same Pproblem. After updating to Lion I'm unable to print through my linkstation printserver. My partner still has snow leopard on her Macbook and there it still works.

I've tried the LPD solution how it was suggested but it did not work for me. Printer can be added but when I try to print it goes to "paused"!!!???

Please help... I need to print again! 😟

I know these are older posts, but they describe exactly what is happening to me. I just installed a new NAS (Buffalo Tera Station) using it as a print server. I've read the above posts, and a lot of others regarding how to configure the Mac to use the print server on the TS, tried many of them, but get as far as printing and the printer pauses every time. The NAS is set up correctly and the Mac communicates with it. No luck with printing. :-(

Got to say that my Windows machine has no problems using the NAS print server.

Anything new on this? Any solution? Please advise.
