The "save as" button disappeared in KeyNote? The duplicate button is no alternative.

Does somebody know where the Save As button has gone in Keynote?

iMac, iOS 4.3.3

the new "system" turns the old one step process (save as) into four. the final step requiring one to leave the keynote.

  1. duplicate the presentation your working on
  2. rename (this does NOT allow you the opportunity to revert to an oder version of keynote!!!!)
  3. move to (doe not allow you to save to sub-folder)
  4. Exit keynote and manually drag the document to it's proper subfolder

good luck saving keynotes as older versions of the application.

In any application that uses Versions the "Save As" button is hidden by default as any change you make updates the file as make them.

If you want to use the Save As… feature, hold down the Option key and then click in the File file menu. This will reveal the Save As… menu item.

NOTE: Using the Save As feature creates a new file at the current state—if you've made changes to your original document before hitting Save As… then both documents will have those changes made. It's better to work off a duplicate or use the Duplicate feature before making changes at all.
