How to remove icons from Launchpad that do not have "X"
Pretty straight forward question,
If there is no "X", how do I remove the Icon without removing the application?

Ok, aside from removing the Program from the Applications Folder. Is there any other way to remove the icon's from the Launchpad?
No. That is what LaunchPad was designed to do, show all of your applications.
You can put them in a LaunchPad folder and drag them to the last page.
Or, if the applications work properly from outside the Applications folder, just move them out.
This youtube video shows the simplest and cleanest way to remove individual apps that you did not download from the Mac App Store. http://youtu.be/wTy9PGf5BAw?hd=1
Use an application like AppCleaner. To remove the application drag it from the Application File to AppCleaner and press delete
just installed lauchpad cleaner , worked a treat !
open finder.. open your applications.. double click the app you want to remove to open your options...click move to trash....and then empty trash.
Lanny, I agree with you completely. If Apple had put an "X" next to every icon that wasn't from the App store people would be deleting their apps unintentionally.
it works perfect thanx
Right on Rob Shepard. That fixed me right up!
This solved my problem.
Went to finder, all my files, searched for name, then dragged to trash, emptied the trash.
BOOM.
Thank you for a helpful info.
Thank you this has worked for me.
I solved this using AppZapper app. Select app to delete, ZAP, and... volia.
My problem is with empty folders. I have a few empty folders siting in the launch pad that I can't get rid of.
Thank-you Rob
It solved my issue.
Drag to garbage.
