How to remove icons from Launchpad that do not have "X"
Pretty straight forward question,
If there is no "X", how do I remove the Icon without removing the application?
iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.3

This is a tip for people who use Steam, the game manager and online store..
Steam stores application shortcuts in the Users/<username>/Applications folder.
If you delete a game from within Steam, it will NOT remove the shortcut from the Users/<username>/Applications folder.
You will have to manually remove it (until Steam/Valve can get Steam working properly with Lion, that is).
Always keep in mind that Macintosh HD/Applications is NOT the only Applications folder that is displayed in LaunchPad. Your User folder's Applications folder is also represented.
This solved my problem. Removing an application without "X" from Launchpad...
Empty trash and voila the 'x' appears now 😉
This helped me find Chrome-apps! - And my launchpad is now free of multiple chrome-apps!!!
This worked flawlessly, super easy, and probably the best way to clean up Launchpad. THANK YOU!
Awesome, thanks to rewolfgz!
This worked perfectly!
Perfect, in fact I found them hiding in my user/applications folder...
Thanks a lot,

Simply as that. Love it.
Works a treat.
Thanks
Just drag the icon to the trash bin.
@rewolfgz, thanks, solved my problem.
You can use Launchpad Manager, that's how I got a few applications removed from my launchpad.
