For me it worked but it wasn't the photos but the ringtones. Once I've unchecked the sync of them it worked. Not very smoothly. On the first sync after it got over the error message the iPhone got hung up in the copying process. But after disconnecting the iPhone and restarting both the Mac and the iPhone it was finally ok.

Hi mdenoon,

I understand your frustration. I had the same problem. The reason why I kept getting the "sync session failed to finish..." was because I was using an application called iToner. I found out that it was causing the sync issues with my iPhone because it isn't yet updated to work with iTunes 10.5 and iOS5.

Once I disabled iToner, my iPhone synced like normal. What you need to do is disable any apps that you may have that you use with iTunes 10.5 and iOS5 and your iPhone should sync as normal. I'm not saying that you use iToner like I do. It could be any app that you might be currently using that accesses both iTunes and your iPhone. If that application isn't updated to work with iTunes 10.5 AND iOS5, that's probably where you will run into the sync issues.

I hope this helps.

Mike.
