I had this problem also and removing these files fixed it.

I'd add that these drivers are "phoning home" at regular intervals over the internet as part of a license validation package. DPReview has posts on the subject also.

I really dislike companies that do this, especially without asking my permission.

OH MAN. So I just made the jump to Mac less than a week ago.

I too installed this very program because the old program I ran on my PC or at least the Mac version they have for MAc doesn't work over on the Mac and I do not want to upgrade hardware.

So when you guys calibrate your monitors using this software the I1display2 is the software doing its job?

I noted that what I use to have my settigs on 6500 and a target of 120 could be found by using some profile they had and it did calibrate but I don't know if worked without my exhaustive print comparison etc....

At any rate, the post post said that by updating that one file from the link clears everything up, we shall see!

thanks for having the same issue-sorry same solutions LOL

To all on this thread: The problem returned by itself today. I have no idea what caused it to return. The files I deleted before came back. I have just deleted them again. I am again getting the following stream of crashes, and this time deleting the files has not stopped it:

I just removed everything by X-Rite from my system. The crashes had returned, and deleting the Hasp folder and the other files did not fix it this time. So I went nuclear on X-Rite. I think the problem is gone now. Very disappointed in X-Rite's handling of the move to Lion. Basically, their new driver either destroyed my old i1Display2 calibrator, or caused it to make useless profiles. I actually think they were trying to force purchase of new hardware calibrator device. Shame on them. Plus, their software messed up my Mac. I will never use any X-Rite products again.

I wish I had a .hasp file to delete. My console shows this too frequenty message, although there is no crash on my iMac (lion). Could anyone tell me if I should worry and/or what to do to prevent this error in the future. I understand that console messages are for the unix-language guys to decipher, too arcane for me. Here is a sample of my console reading:

time PM kernel: IOSurface:buffer allocation size is zero

to be found hundreds of times

Thanks @Joachim. I've had the i1 Display Pro software installed for quite some time, but I only noticed the crashes recently even thought I check the Activity Monitor now and then. In my case, I couldn't find the LaunchDaemons directory in the Library. It's hidden. I had to do a file search on com.aladdin.hasplmd.plist using Finder with the option to show system files. There was a second com.aladdin... file. I deleted it as well.

I have been having problems with my USB hub connected drives disconnecting after sending my Mac to sleep. Console shows these hasplmp errors every ten seconds, so hopefully this is connected.

I followed your advice, KT322, and went to Sentinel Downloads, ran the uninstaller and then reinstalled. Hopefully this sorts things out!

FYI - for those of you reading this, HASP stands for Hardware Against Software Piracy and is a type of DRM - more here

Mar 14, 2014 2:30 AM in response to Mac Dub

Ok, just to follow up the progress here... after upgrading my HASP I am no longer getting the console errors.

Unfortunately this has not solved my disk unmounting problems. They have actually become more random. I used to see the error after waking my computer from sleep, but I left it running with Caffeine keeping it awake last night and the error message was staring me in the face this morning.

Maybe it's something to do with my USB 3.0 hub...
