Is there a virus protection software available for the ipad 2?

It will be malware long before a virus.

There are no viruses that infect or affect OS X which has been available for over 10 years now.

Android doesn't provide anywhere close to the security afforded by iOS.

I have seen this Photon Flash Player that is getting great reviews but am wondering if I should get a virus protector if I do add this. Also does anyone know which virus protector is out there for the ipad. I am currently using Norton for my pc's. Thank you so much. I just purchased the New Ipad I guess is the ipad 3 Love it. Also does anyone have any tips on a good case for it that they are pleased with.

Intego Virusbarrier is still the only "antivirus" app that is available but read the description very carefully before you purchase and read the reviews. All it can do is scan mail attachments to see if they contain Windows spyware/malware. Really not worth the money or time. Use of the Photon browser does not make you less secure.

I got an Apple SmartCase two weeks ago. Aside from the fact no leather one is available and it gets dirty fairly easily I've been happy with it.

Thank you for such a fast response, so you are saying getting this Photon Flash Player will not let me more less secure since it is a flash player? I know I read the reason why the ipad does not need a virus protector is because it does not have a flash player thats why I was wondering.

It is not a flash player, it is an alternate browser that goe to a server that runs flash programs. I've not used any of them as I don't often run into the Flash issue. It will not make your iPad less secure.
