Mac OX X Lion freeze after wake-up

I have tested my late model 2008 Macbook Pro 15, and it is not having the freeze issue.

Having the freeze issue on my new air i5 13". Every time the computer goes to sleep and i wake it up the screen stays black but if i move the trackpad the arrow reverse erases the log in screen and i can see the login once i mve the mouse all over. Starting to get really annoyed.

Same problem here. Macbook Pro (early 2011) running 10.7.2. Waking it from sleep, get frozen login screen, which accepts my password, but then hangs. The bluetooth mouse still works, but it just stays at the login screen.

This is exactly what happens on my 21" iMac.

I have had the same problem for some time. After shurdown with Google Chrome running, the system freezes when coming back up before it receives the data for the open tabs, especially if I try to add a new tab. I believe I have cured it by deactivating all Symantic security software. I have now uninstalled all Symantec security software and I don't seem to be able to make the lockup reoccure.

I have the same issue and it seems this thread has been going for over 3 months and still no resolution??? Come on Apple you're better then this!!

I hate to say this to you all but it seems the only solution is to bring your Mac to apple because in my case my processor was faulty. So if your comp goes to sleep and you wake it the screen is black and when u move your mouse you start to brush away the black and see your log in page then it's most likely hardware related. If you think it's not, your best bet is to back up and reinstall Lion. I actually received a new Air an have not had any issues with it this far. Good luck to you all and I hope you find a solution to your problem.

Update: following some advice here, I disabled time machine and the lockup on wake after entering the password issue has disappeared. The machine has been on, waking from sleep since my last post without issue. Not a solution, but perhaps a good data point.

I have the Mac Pro dual quad 2.8 Xeon, same problem here, but I do not have Chrome. and the problem starts to advance. Now while I'm working the screen starts to flash, then freeze. note, plus my computer won't even go to sleep even I set the time to sleep....

i'm going to try it. i just froze...again and i've been trying to track it down. i just noticed today that time machine is always running when it does because it worries me a hard shutdown is going to ruin my external. my browser freezes first no matter if it is safari, chrome, firefox. so i thought it was the browser. so i googled the issue today and here i read others mention time machine. so i'm going to turn it off now. and see what happens. the freeze at wake up seems to have gone away once i either unchecked that i required a password or i had read about something with the graphics card setting in system preferences. so i need to figure out which fixed that. or if it still ties back to time machine as i used to always have that plugged in.

A week ago, I disabled the bluetooth/trackpad and returned to use of a mouse.

So far, so good (on Mac Mini)

Thanks MIB, that thread is better for my issues. TM and my non powered USB external drive seem to be the culperits.

Same issue here on Late 2008 MacBook Pro.

Upgraded yesterday to Lion, and now it freezes every time I come up from sleep.

This is ridiculous.
