I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro, and recently upgraded to Lion.  The cursor has become very unstable and disappears from view in Safari, Numbers, iCalc, etc.  Does anyone know what is happening?  Is this a Lion glitch?

I also have this issue with Lion (clean install, not upgrade). From what i have noticed it dissapears when the cursor is ment to change back to the default arrow. Have experience it in many apps including finder.

I just upgraded my iMac 27" to Lion 10.7.0. Using my favorite app of the month HotGloo which is a cloud based wireframing tool using Flash. In both Safara and Firefox my cursor dissapears for 2, 3, 4 seconds at a time then reappears bottom of screen or top left... randomly. This is nearly making it impossible to use this app. APPLE PLEASE FIX... seems like an OS bug. Also reporting issue with same problem of selecting item then when cursor chages back to arrow it dissapears... not all the time but one out of five times.

I have a MBP with Lion and the mouse is disappearing sometimes and not other times as described by others. What the heck is going on? It disappears for a few second, I wiggle the mouse (a magic mouse) and it reappears. I am rebooting to see if I can make it more stable. Anybody know what's going on?

Hey folks. I have a MBA with Lion and I am having the same issue. It seems to happen when I have a video running on a website.... I hope Apple can find a solution!

I am getting the same problem.  It is terribly irritating.  It disappears whether directed from my mouse, or directed from my cursor pad.

Okay, so I am trying to set up a new Mini Mac for my employer and my cursor is also disappearing.  If we are all having this problem, why are there so many forums talking about this and no solid solution being presented from Apple?  That's my question.

" solid solution being presented from Apple?"

Did you report it to Apple?

    You can do it here:

I am having exactly the same issue too. I have macpro 2011, and the problem just started today. I have latest mac os version 10.7.2

Same issue cursor goes, track pad fails and short cut keys all do not work,no input from anything. Have to power down with power button and start up again to regain. Ironically, it is at quit on Apple software Aperture, iPhoto, Pages. iTunes running and continues to play music without input controls, so it isn't a freeze but is communication from me to my MacBook Pro 17" (Lion 10.7.1 and 10.7.2) Love Lion but this is a bit spooky.

Exactly the same problem here, so infuriating. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

I notice something, when I am using my wireless keyboard to type something the pointer of my magic mouse disappears ,but the minute I start using back the magic mouse it reappears ,when  I  am watching full screen videos the pointer diappears but when I finish watching videos and I start back using the magic mouse it reappears ,to me I think it is perfectly normal it does this ,except for one thing ,somethimes the magic mouse pointer would not reappear ,if you check the battery and the bluetooth connection ,the magic mouse would still be connected, what worked for me was when I turn off the magic mouse and put it back on.Another method is if you use command and shift it would reappear. This is an apple issue and it has to do with a bug ,it's not your mac or your mouse or the bluetooth connection or mouse batteries ,apple needs to give a software update to fix this ,I hope they do soon because they are really sticking on this one.

Hi David Dodge here again. I lost you mouse again (using a magic mouse), but when I quit Safari I got my mouse back. I am thinking there is a connection between the browser, or java, or other things happening in the browser that cause issues for the mouse. I do not get this problem as often as I used to, but I am still getting it in spite of my first post on this being last September!

As it turns out..the last update (Lion) made it  all better. Mouse has never disappeared after that... Thanks Apple...made everything very good

This drives me nuts. Same dissapearing cursor. I have noticed that it acts up more frequently when I have an external moniter plugged in. Other than that it doesn't seem to matter what program I am using or what I am doing in that program it will just dissapear and reappear whenever it sees fit. The cursor is still there, it just is no longer visable. Meaning, If I hovered over a link and waited (I did) for it to vanish I could still click the link. Everything is up to date and for a $3000 computer... this really shouldn't be happening... come on Apple.... HELP!!!!!!!
