After upgrading lion everything worked perfectly,
after 4 or 5 days, suddenly mission control is working really slow and there is a delay,
when i switch between applications with the four fingers,
i really hate it!! should i reformat my laptop?
is there any solution???

Worked for me as well. I didnt try the cleanup through Onyx though, here is what I tried.
1) Opened & quit (ie right click from the dock to quit the respective application) all possible applications I woudl have opened previously since Upgrade to Lion.
2) Rebooted (did not check "Re open windows when logging back in"
After reboot transition to Mission control is smooth as before.

I was just checking some of my old post here and have tried the Onyx cache clean.. It certainly seems to have speeded MC up a bit but it might be because it closed / re-opened all my Apps ! Time will tell :-)

Hey guys, this is happening to me. Mission Control gets really slow, but, i noticed i've been having this issue since I installed AUTOCAD, just opened AUTOCAD and the problem got solved, it went fast again, like magic.

confiemed it's the acad just launch and quit from dock
