MacPro does not Wake On Lan / Ethernet - Lion

Ever since upgrading to Lion, my MacPro no longer wakes up on LAN (WOL). Before upgrading to Lion, I could wakeup and access my MacPro by connecting to it from my MacBook Air. For example, from my MacBook Air, I would open Finder and click on my MacPro. Now, perfroming these steps no longer wakes up my MacPro, even when both computers are on the same network. As a result, if my MacPro is asleep, I cannot access its files or share its screen because it won't wake up. I must manually wake it up before I can access its resources from my MacBook Air.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've had problems with Wake On Lan under Lion. In my case, waking my iMac (2.4GHz Core2Duo) via AppleTV or Remote app in iOS works -- it wakes up and the screen stays dark. However, nothing is accessible. Songs and albums do not appear; photos cannot be accessed. If I walk over to the iMac and push a button, the screen lights up and everything suddenly shows up on my iPad/iPhone. Annoying!!

i have a some what similar problem with getting the extended display to show up when waking the 'display' (and not the macbook pro itself) from sleep. i am repling here because u might have this same problem and not the problem of waking it up from sleep itself. is what happens...

i have macbook pro connected to my bravia lcd in clamshell.

i wake it up with apple remote.

the display comes up.

i use mobile mouse pro in iphone as keyboard and mouse for input.

Now... if the display is to go to sleep before the macbook pro does then...

waking it up from mobile mouse por doesnt work

pressing buttons on apple remote doesnt work

only putting it to sleep using and waking it up works.

I'd like to reiterate that this is an issue with wake on lan. Wake by any standard means (e.g. bluetooth peripheral, Apple Remote) still works.

The computer in question is also an iMac, meaning that the display's behavior is inherently integrated with the wake behavior (read: there is no issue with a laptop lid being shut...)

I'm using Apple Remote Desktop. Whenever the Mac is sleeping, the software thinks that the computer is online, and sending the "magic packet" to wake the mac via any means through port 9 yeilds nothing.

Thoughts?

I use my mbp in clamshell mode. I would like to use it as a remote server when i'm not at home.

My problem is that that magic packet works if I manually put the mbp into sleep mode.

But if a power cut occurs, than the the mbp in clamshell mode goes automatically into sleep mode, and that's the case in which the magic packet does not work anymore.

Is there a way around?
