I am a new Mac user and have a snow leopard OS loaded on my Macpro. Since I am an academic, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to make use of podcast capture in order to record my lectures as podcasts and distribute it to my class. Does this require a subscription to any special service like Mobile Me for example?

As far as I know you will not be able to use podcast capture to capture your lectures. Podcast capture that is installed by default with snow leopard is used with Podcast Producer witch is an Apple server application.
