Viewer is too dark in FCPX

There are a few posts relating to this subject.

I think there are two distinct problems however therefore with two distict solutions I hope.

The first, is the problem I have. The clips look too dark and saturated in the viewer.

The same clips look great in iMovie and Qucktime player and export perfectly fine form FCPX.

Some have suggested it is the version of icc profile that is causing the problem

I have and icc v4 profile, my software doesn't allow me to same in v2. I use an NEC Spectraview 2690 monitor, I hardware calibrate using their software (LUT not Matrix). I use Eye One Display 2

(Colormunki users I believe do have a fix for this problem in other posts)

I use a MacBook Pro 5,3 and so my graphic card is compatible with FCPX.

I am running Lion but had the issue with Snow Leopard.

The second issue people have is a dark viewer due to a missing green channel. I don't suffer from this. It is suggested in other posts that this is an issue with graphic cards.

Does anyone have constuctive advice on how to tackle the first problem other than that which is outlined above?

Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)
