where does one find "terminal"?
I have the same problem with the super drive after installing lion.
thanks!
The 32 bit mode fix works (*hold down 3&2 on your key board when booting). But I've found it's just the type of disc your using. I had memorex dvd-r's and the don't read or write at all on my Macbookpro running Lion OSX. Try using different CD's/DVD-R's. Doesn't make a lot of sense but that seems to be the cause of the problem. After dealing with apple on the phone and at the store, this is what their going to tell you in the end...
If you ask me, still s^*ks though.
PS. I may have bought these particular DVD-R's outside the country, maybe thats why they only open and or burn in 32 bit mode???
If you go the top right corner you'll find the Spotlight icon. Click on it and start typing Terminal. Hit enter and it will launch.
But give this a shot first: http://techdrops.tumblr.com/post/12942201003/if-your-superdrive-is-not-working-a nymore-after
