Okay I have done up to the point of copying

sudo sh -c ' cat Desktop/hosts > /etc/hosts '

into my terminal but your next step confused me, should I not enter my password and just quit? or enter my password and then quit? if so what would my password be?

thanks

After you have copied and pasted

sudo sh -c ' cat Desktop/hosts > /etc/hosts '

Into Terminal, press the RETURN/ENTER key

then enter your administrator password, which if your the only user account on the machine is your log-in password and the same password you give when you Software Update. (the first and only account set up on a Mac is the admininstrator account by default)

If by chance your not a administrator, you need to log into a administrator account and repeat the steps above (only a administrator can use the "sudo" command.)
