Problems viewing live video streaming from Eurosport Player

I am using Safari 5.1 and OX 10.6.8. I have been successfully viewing Eurosport Player up until today when I started getting the message "Cannot open stream. Please make sure your browser is accepting cookies (3222)"

I also downloaded todfay (prompted by Eurosport) the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight. Dont know if this connected to my problem.

I have checked that my Mac is accepting cookies (ticked the box in Preferences> Privacy), and have restarted my computer twice but the message persists each time I log on to Eurosport. I have also tried using Firefox to access my Eurosport Player account but still get the same massage. I have tried viewing non streamed video content on Eurosport and Utube and both work fine, as does live video on Steephill TV (cycling) so the problem seems restricted to the Eurosport Player. Can anyone out there advise me what I need to do to get viewing my live video streaming on Eurosport Player working again.

With SilverLight, Microsoft created their own version of what a replacement for Flash could be - but not to universal acclaim. You can read more about it here:

So, if you go to any sites that have been designed for this Silverlight stuff, you can download the plug-in from there (but make certain that you are downloading SilverLight v.1.0 for OS X (10.4.8 upwards) if you are using a PPC Mac, but even this will not work with Safari 4. Version 2 only works with Intel Macs and does work with Safari 4/5. The solution is to download and install the latest version of Flip4Mac, which now includes a Silverlight component:

But the latest news is that Microsoft will probably abandon Silverlight in favour of HTML5:

Have downloaded the Flip4Mac download from the link you gave but this has made no difference to the 3222 coded message I'm getting on the Eurosport Player. Any other suggestions?

Did you delete the Silverlight plugin you had downloaded?

Not sure how to do that. I used help to find the plug in in the HD library but help doesn't explain how to "remove" the plug-in. I placed it in trash but am still unable to get accesss to Eurosport. Can you advise?

Well, I have the setup I recommended to you, but I can't get past that Get Silverlight demand either!

I can only suggest you contact Eurosport for an answer.

I had the same issue, and still do *if* I use Safari (5.0.3). However, if I use Firefox (5.0.1) then it works perfectly. I have no idea why Safari fails where Firefox, I have tried Chrome ('cos I just got it working now and want to watch the Vuelta.) Hopefully this works for you too.

(I got the latest flip and silverlight, too.)
