About the little scrollbar arrows...

...is there any way to get these back in Mac OS X Lion? Or do I need to downgrade to Snow Leopard just get these seemingly trivial but for me necessary things back?

Lion as a whole is a fine thing but this particular problem doesn't swing with me. Apple could just as well have left the option in the Preferences and I have no idea why they decided to remove it altogether. Not very intuitive IMO.

I work as a graphic designer and use Photoshop every day. Many files contains hundreds of layers and I really need fine control over the layers- list. Without the arrows things have increasingly become horrible, it seriously messes up my workflow. Yes, I can use the trackpad but that isn't the optimal solution for me since I use a Wacom tablet. Every time I need to bump up a few layers I automatically use the tool I have in my hand, i.e mouse or pen and it's really hard to pinpoint a specific layer many times. It's extremely annoying so I wonder if anyone know how or if there's a possibility of getting the arrows back?

While definitely a troll (starting flamewars in the Apple Discussion community? c'mon. C'MON), I'm surprised to find that Mulligans Missus is a male. That moniker sounds like a reference to somebody's wife, at least to these ears. That said, I agree with the multitude that MM's comments are not at all to point (suck it up and grow a pair, to paraphrase). MM, please post your comment in the "Gee whiz, Apple software engineers are just omnipotent Titans subject to Papal Infallibility" thread. The rest of us miss our little arrows.

Hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion, and this is the right place to voice it. But her/his condescension towards someone who doesn't like an Apple "innovation" is unnecessary, counterproductive and insulting. The implied suggestion behind her "advice" is, "anyone who disagrees with me is stupid." Because, of course, Apple has never made any mistakes in the past. They never made the Cube, or the Newton. All anyone here is asking for is the ability to restore something we all used daily and, apparently, loved enough to complain when it was taken away. And the only alternative does not need to be: go back to Tiger. I have not used a PPC computer in 7 years, but I want my little arrows AND my speedy, streamlined Lion interface. I'm not asking too much. It's eminently do-able, especially by the Geniuses on Apple's OS team. And if enough voices here chime in for it, we will see the return of our little pals:
