HP printer driver update broke my printers!

The printer driver that apple rolled out in the last week has broken every printer in our office from printing. How the **** can this happen? I tell you how, some little jerk isn't doing their job. I now have 11 printers down that will not print, all Photosmart 7850's. We didn't need a lion driver update why was it pushed to 10.6 users? You can't go download a driver from HP because they say OS X already has one, we do it doesn't work. Thanks apple my company is having a meeting Monday about switching back to the PC platform after years of getting them off the PC crack.

The solution offered by Dave Wiltshire worked! Also, a special call out to Apple Support and the tech person who helped me, Chia. It happens that he bumped this issue to the engineers and came back with the same response. While it took a while (mainly a problem of telephone tag), he got the answer to me and did not simply toss it to HP. So, Dave Wiltshire - you're great and so was Chia at Apple.

Finally, another HP printer driver update was posted by Apple and this one did not cause the problem experienced earlier. So, it seems, that someone at HP learned a lesson.

since I have updated the driver for my HP printer Officejet J4680 I cannot fax any document. So I downgraded to the last driver before this "update" and now it works well. What h ell is this update for?

I now use the following rule for HP printer updates: If it works, don't fix it. I wait at least a month before I download an update. By then, hopefully, the bugs have been worked out.
