Proxy issue with Lion

So I work behind a proxy which has never given me issues before in Snow Leopard. I just always have to enter my credentials upon re-opening my browser which is fine...

My new issue is this stupid box though, I have no idea what process is causing it to open and if i cancel it I can still access everything I normally would. Is there any way to either submit it and have it remember or disable it all together?

If you need a bigger copy just let me know 🙂

I'm running Mavericks.

I tried the fix suggested by ctz but to no avail. Still constantly getting the get the annoying pop-up.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

This is just an OSX issue. I don't have the problem with Windows machines or my Chromebook.

Hope there's a fix for this in upcoming OSX updates.

By the way, I also get the pop-up when using my iPad.

Some things to think about:

- doublecheck the proxy server name in the dialog. You need a keychain entry in the 'system' keychain for that exact proxy server, as a full URL, and access must be set for all applications to have access.

- keep activity viewer open to see if AuthBrokerAgent is running when you get a dialog. If it's not running, deleting the plist (stopping AuthBrokerAgent) won't make any difference.

- check the Console logs to see if any particular issue is visible in the system log

Don't delete that plist as per Xia Zhong unless you keep a copy so you can return it if needed.

If you make a copy, the ownership and privileges will change, and if you put it back, you have to restore the proper default privileges manually.

On my computer the AuthBrokerAgent runs without generating any annoying dialogs, so the fix I described previously solves the problem perfectly.

The only other thing to think about is keychain corruption. It may be a good idea to remove all entries and build them up as new from scratch.
