IPod will not Sync to ITunes - AppleSyncNotifier.exe Entry Point Not Found.

I did a restore of my IPod touch because it would not sync to my computer/ITunes. I am still getting an error that says AppleSyncNotifier.exe Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point xmlText Reader or Const Name could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll. What do I do to get my IPod to sync to ITunes? What does this error mean? Thank you so much

iPod touch, Windows Vista

Try resetting sync hitory:

Reset Sync History

If you find that some of your data syncs to your device but you see an unexpected number of changes or modifications, you may need to reset your sync history. This causes iTunes to prompt to Merge or Replace information on the device when you next attempt to sync your information. To reset your Sync History:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Click the Devices tab.
  4. Click the Reset Sync History button.

If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:

  1. Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
  2. Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
  4. Click Apply.

If the issue continues and you know all the data is on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
  2. Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
  3. Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
  5. Click Apply.

Easier fix

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.

Copy the libxml2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.

Restart the programme all should be well

In case that your OS is (64 bit)

1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"

3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support

4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.

5. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Good Luck
