HP 1102w on OS X 10.7 Lion - no wifi support?

Many thanks for the links here. I could find them no where else and like all the others have been pretty frustrated. But, I'm a brand new mac user - only 24 hrs now - and these links seem to download only documentation. I still can't get anything accomplished. Any ideas? THANK YOU!!!

Maurice Turner, thanks for this exhaustive explanation. For whatever reason, I cannot seem to get an IP address to show up on the printed page in step 4. I have waited the allotted time and done everything as you steps explain.

Any idea why this isn't happening?

Awesome, Maurice's detailed instructions worked perfectly.

The main issue I had which was not covered by his instructions was that my printer wasn't showing as an ad-hoc device. It turns out that it had previously been configured for another network.

The solution was to reset the printer to factory settings: power on the printer and immediately hold the X and WiFi buttons for 10-15 seconds. Release the buttons and wait a few seconds and then turn on WiFi back on.

After that, following Maurice's steps worked flawlessly. Though I did not have to enter the IP manually (Step 4) - the Print & Scan system preference panel was able to add the printer as a "Nearby Printer" when I was connected to it via the ad-hoc wifi connection, and from there, the printer utility allowed me to open the configuration web page.

I had problem opening the web interface with safari. It would change the header to HP1102.... but would never load the page.

Using the find near by printers in the print scan setting window worked frst time. I wish i had not wasted so much time on the HP help site.

Maurice, I'm currently using this printer with a MacBook Air and an iMac on the same network. Both worked just fine with the printer (on WiFi) until a couple of weeks ago, and then the iMac stopped printing. It finds the printer with AirPrint, I set it as the default printer, it has a green button and appears to be just fine. But then when I try to print something, nothing happens and I go back to preferences and it's now a yellow button with "In Use, Default" but nothing ever happens. The printer is turned on and is still working with the other Mac. Any ideas? Thanks!
