Songs won't continuous play in playlist on itunes, Please Help!!

Make sure that the checkmark next to each song is present.

If the songs are not 'checked' they will not be played in sequence.

Ctrl-Click on one of the songs to mass-check or mass-uncheck them all.

Hmmm, I'm not sure but is the one song repeating? If so, you need to change your repeat option to OFF, you can do this on the top line of iTunes under "Controls".

If not, as a workaround, I would just click on the playlist, then "Edit">"Select All". Once all of the songs are selected, I would hit play and then they should all play for you. I know you shouldn't have to do this, but....

it won't continuous play in my playlists. Just one song at a time.

hmmm. you can get that behavior if all the little boxes to the left of the tracks are unchecked.

are they checked or unchecked in your library windows?

Choose any Playlist or the complete Library.

Ctrl-Click on any song's blue-box. If there is a chaeckmark in the box, then all songs will uncheck. Ctrl-Click again and all songs will check.

If your Library is large, it may take several seconds. Be patient. This does work - I just tried it again.

hmmmm. that's odd. just tried it with the various combinations of repeat and unchecked, and i don't get continuous play.

are you getting any other peculiar behavior when playing songs at the moment?

No--everything else is working properly (knock on wood)! I have my suffle setting under options to song and my repeat set to off on the one playlist where all of the songs are unchecked--I don't know if that makes a difference. Anyway--I hope there's not a bigger underlying problem.

The songs in this particular playlist are unchecked because they are all AAC conversions that I load on my nano. For normal iTunes use, I have my songs in 320 kps. mp3s--but the files are too big for the Nano. So I keep this playlist, and uncheck the songs so I don't have duplicates playing in my regular libary. The songs don't play when checked and unchecked are together, but when it's just the complete unchecked song list they play in random order continuously until I stop them manually.

good lord ... i don't believe i've ever seen that reported before. (no real surprise, i guess ... how would people realise that something strange was happening if it was happening to them? that would keep report levels down ...)

can anyone else replicate samdogmom's itunes behavior?

ps: didn't we talk months ago about upgrading to NIS 2006? if so, how's that treating you?

Yes we did. Good memory. I actually reported back under that thread. The 6.02 update went on my computer with no problems. And, I updated my son's laptop running NIS 2006 with no problems either. So I think the newest version of Norton is friendlier to iTunes than the 2005 version.
